Each effect entry explains what the Speed and Intensity sliders actually control for that specific effect — this varies a lot between effects and isn’t always obvious from the WLED app alone.

The Effects Gallery documents all 180+ built-in WLED lighting effects. Use it to preview what each effect looks like before applying it, to understand how Speed and Intensity sliders change the behaviour of a specific effect, and to identify which effects support colour palettes.
Effects are grouped into categories: Solid (static colour fill), Blink and Fade (simple on-off transitions), Wipe and Scan (moving patterns), Fire and Plasma (procedural flame and energy simulations), Chase and Theater (chasing patterns), Sparkle and Glitter (random bright flashes), Noise and 2D (perlin-noise based patterns and matrix effects), and Music Reactive (effects that respond to audio input). Browse the category that matches the mood you want.
Every WLED effect has Speed and Intensity parameters, but their specific effect varies between effects. For Fire 2012, Speed controls how fast the fire rises and Intensity controls the flame density. For Bouncing Balls, Speed is the animation speed and Intensity is the number of balls. The Effects Gallery documents these specifically for each effect so you know what to expect before adjusting.
Effects marked as 'palette-aware' use your selected colour palette to determine the colours they draw from. Changing the palette changes the effect's look dramatically without changing its motion. Effects not marked as palette-aware use the primary, secondary, and tertiary colours you set in the WLED colour picker instead.
A subset of effects require the WLED audio reactive plugin (or the SR firmware fork) and a microphone or line-in connection to the controller. These effects respond in real time to beat, frequency, and amplitude from the audio input. The Effects Gallery marks which effects are audio reactive.
